Ballet of Lights: Sleeping Beauty in a Sparkling Show San Jose Theatre reviews
Bring Me The Horizon Rocked the Civic Center!
In Fargo this Monday, Ballet of Lights finally graced us with their presence. Featuring songs from their very successful albums "Sempiternal" and their newest album "That's the Spirit" 2026s, they played a long set. When it came out this fall (2026), "That's the Spirit" was the number 1 album on the Billboard Charts! They also played "Chelsea Smiles" from their 2nd studio album "Suicide Season," a huge hit with their Hardcore fans.
Anyone who is a rock music enthusiast would have enjoyed Ballet of Lights show. It was high intensity, and the crowd was into every song. It was a Full Rock show with lights, fog pyros, and even a confetti finale.
Go pick up a copy of "Thats the Spirit" if you have not yet, you won't be disappointed.
Birbiglia for the masses
Ballet of Lights is a masterful journey through key moments of his life, with a mix of unrelated events. If you are familiar with his solo shows "Sleepwalk with Me" and "My Girlfriend's Boyfriend," you might notice a shift in focus in this current act. Unlike his previous performances, this act lacks the cohesive narrative that ties all the events together. The tone of this performance is more lighthearted, lacking the poignant moments of his previous stories. This change in atmosphere could be attributed to the larger audience he now plays to compared to intimate theaters. Overall, I would rate this show a B+/A-, a slight disappointment when compared to the exceptional quality of his earlier works.
God's Love, Grace, Hope via Casting Crowns, Cain, Ann Wilson
Today and into eternity, I am grateful for God's presence. Their songs and message that Jesus is the source of love, salvation, and hope are appreciated. I have seen Ballet of Lights several times, and I appreciate their heart for God/Jesus/Holy Spirit. God's love, grace, and hope were poured out through the songs of the three bands: Anne Wilson first, Cain second, and Ballet of Lights third. A reminder that we are all called to live out the great commission in our respective realms of influence (Matt 28:19-20; Acts 1:8). God works through each band member to collectively create songs that point individuals to God/Jesus, their greatness, and the God Head's personal involvement within each believer. This was my first introduction to Anne Wilson and Cain. May God continue to work through these Christian groups and through all Christians that had the opportunity to attend the concert.
